Video descxtion: India is getting richer, yet life remains frustrating due to constant negotiations we face in everyday situations. When driving, we often deal with rule-breakers, and in queues, we must be alx for someone slipping ahead. It's not about a lack of civic sense; it’s a trust issue.

We live in a low-trust society where rules aren't consistently enforced. Even with strict regulations, many find ways to bypass them, reinforcing a culture of negotiation.

This happens because people doubt whether rules will be upheld, leading to chaos at places like metro stations. If we truly want change, we need stricter enforcement and better public trust in institutions. For example, successful decentralized waste management in states like Kerala shows how community involvement can improve civic behavior. Without addressing these core issues, we’ll continue seeing people bending rules, even in critical situations like emergencies.

The real pollution in India is not just in the air or rivers — it’s in the mindset.

Most Indians don't even know what good quality of life means.
Many will even argue here that life in developed countries has more issues and India is better.

Moreover aged people are more mannerless compared to young people, was travelling in train 2 days ago, an uncle in mid 50s took my side lower seat and when I get there that person had the audacity to say "mera station 4ghante mein aa hi jaayega aap kahin aur jaake baith jaao".

I abide by the rules. But I will be the real 'loser' always. Recently, I was driving and there was some construction going on, so there was a traffic jam. And all those who drove past me in the opposite lane , inspite of the vehicles coming in the opposite way, were let go by police because if not it will lead to further congestion. So we who were waiting in our lane were made to wait like 40 minutes to move like 250 meters, I'm not kidding 40 minutes. Even my mom started telling me that I too should follow them , so that we can go faster. But I couldn't, this is just one example, there are lot more like littering, pissing in public etc. There is a proverb in kannada which loosely translates to "In the kingdom of naked people, those who wear clothes will feel embarrassed" I think this is very apt for our present society

@sayanonline
The rot has reached the core of society. The damage is irrecoverable. In India, you can either be a looter or the looted. There isn't much difference between those who loot in the name of "digital arrest" and those who loot in the name of taxes and fines.

Once I decided to go street shopping with my mother and the worst thing is I decided to not take my own car. We went by e-rickshaw. As soon as I got into the rickshaw, a bus was moving by and the person from bus split and it landed directly on my trousers. I was disgusted. After that, we reached the place and we had to walk a little. When I was walking, one middle-aged man made some cheap comment on me I abused him and it increased my  irritation, frustration. After that, to reach the shopping point, we had to walk through very narrow lanes. And walking with a 56-year-old woman, my mother, it was like I was on some battle because everywhere there was this electricity poles and then half of the road was occupied by street vendors. And constantly I had to look back if some vehicle is not coming and it will not hit me or my mother. And that like one kilometer walk became so frustrating, and then the crossing of road, like cars, scooter, it was vehicles were coming from each and every side. After that, I decided never, never to go out again with public transport or walking and especially with my mother.

as unemployment is on rise, and execution sucks. this could be an opportunity to hire people who are in absolute need of jobs and train them for positions like strict monitoring. doing this, may help people and the overall society imo

@sohamchachad25
honestly at this point, it feels ridiculous trying to make india better because selfishness is just so ingrained in us that as individuals we have stopped thinking about others, whether it is in traffic, at a ticket counter line, or anywhere else. we do everything possible to hide our own problems and wrongdoings. even if we just started thinking a little about others, we could go miles ahead. like mentioned in the video, if people were simply honest and showed a valid puc certificate, it would already help a lot and the environment would naturally get better. but instead we create the problems and then blame the system for it. if we as individuals just try to be a little better every day, things could actually improve a lot.

It is such a bad situation that we are living in thousands of negotiations, assuming that we are doing it for our own benefits. But overall, if you think you are outsmarting the system, you are just affecting the system in a very bad way.

@Anand-d8x3w
People will say that Indians don't have civic sense but the thing is most of people don't know what is civic sense because they did not get proper education, education is not about just passing the exam many educated people are just educated on paper, all people of India is corrupt the only difference between normal people and the people who ruling the country is they got the chance . We have to change the mindset and the most important thing is we have to improve our education system from root like from Anganwadi .

12:18 that Incentive point doesn't work properly in Indian system, results can be easily manipulated by the officials and incentives will be distributed with in official, same happened in a recent case where an ias got 2 crore award from President itself on her work in buliding thousands of water tankas but on ground no tankas were built and even the image submitted were generated through AI

In bhubaneswar, capital hospital have same kind of corruption system like usually the mri for patients is free , but someone will come to patient who has prescribed to take mri and demand some 3-5k and he will push your number to top of queue.. and i think this kind of corruption happening in every govt hospitals which should be free ...

As north east indian, I feel as tough whenever I am about to go to north of India, or even about to cross Bihar, a sudden alxness always comes in mind. I'm not saying that we north easterners are better, but I would say that most mainland indians are too raw in nature, social ethics go out of their mind in public. It is scary especially for our women to travel anywhere in India. Even our parents make sure we travel with someone especially a man. I feel that in order for our country to change, it will take a long time. I have so much hope for our country, I met so many good people in my travels and internships. I hope this video reaches to the hearts of millions of indians

@Shiv__20
Many people who either hold government jobs or are preparing for them seem primarily motivated by job security rather than a genuine desire to serve the public. This mindset often creates the perception that some individuals enter these roles not to work sincerely, but to take advantage of the system and earn illegal or black money. Because of this perception, I find it difficult to respect the culture surrounding preparation for government jobs.
