Japanese is relative easier to guess, Koreans are more difficult due to many North Eastern Chinese look like Koreans. My mother is from North East, my father is from Southern China. I was mistaken for a Korean for a long time in my U.S. school by other Chinese immigrants at the school. I’m Chinese, but I’ve had a lot of other Chinese people think I’m something else, usually Japanese, mixed or …. Anything but Chinese. So sometimes you can, but it’s not always accurate.
