I visited India several times back in early 1970s, then never had the chance to visit again. Then my wife went there in 2019 for a holiday, and from she told me, there seemed not much progress made in 50 years in normal Indians standard of living. Sure, India had made advancements in moon exploration and perhaps in nuclear weapons, but what matters more are things like the standard of living, healthcare, children mortality...etc.

India is all about theatrical like USA minus the military muscle and the ability to print money like there is no tomorrow and the real GDP or even fake of the USA. Its just all Bollywood. These are just as bad as the Times World Ranking of the Universities, where all top ranks are always occupied by the American, British, Canadians, Australians, and a few from Hong Kong, China sprinkled here and there.
