Modern warfare or military strikes are not anymore about dropping a huge payloads of bombs causing indiscriminate destruction.
America does precision strikes that cause minimal loss of life if that's what they choose to do. They take out only the bad guys.
Civilians getting hit from US strikes is rare and if it happens, it's an accident.
You have to understand that in war the other side is trying to falsely declare war crimes on the opponent.

Iran tried to play the victim and blame America for killing civilians because war is also about pr and about perceptions.
