Yes, We can increase the working hours with some changes.
1). Provide salary on weekly basis ( if possible on the basis of working hour) instead of monthly basis.
2). Increase salary of employees.
3). Working hours should be 8+3 hour.
4). Extra 3 hours should not be mandatory for all employees.
5). Pay extra for extra 3 hours.

I am a senior employee and even I was annoyed by working 9 hr for 6 days, I think what we Indian should learn is to be more productive qualitatively and not focus more on quantity.

8X8x8 is the perfect rule. 8 hours work, 8 hours Sleep , 8 hours family life (includes commute to work, getting ready for work as well) is the perfect work life balance to increase productivity. Compromising anything in this will definitely impact the employee's health (mental and physical) and will lead to decreased productivity.

As an employee, I feel that instead of increasing the work hours, just use automation to do the recurring tasks while letting employees work on more productive work. Just this is enough to boost the progress in the work done for the company at lower working hours.

I lived and worked in Singapore for more than a decade, it was 40 hours work week and if you are asked to work more employer had to pay double per hour and that had a cap till maximum of 35 hours of overtime, which is 40 + 35 =75 hours a week. It was illegal to work more than 75 hours a week. I think it is an excellent solution to the work week problem.

I live outside India for work, and I am a banker. I hold more than 9 years of experience, but last year when I came to India and thought of settling down. I gave interviews at a few places. To my surprise I was offered a smaller package with an annual salary of 6 lakhs. When I asked them why the package so low, the answer surprised me. They said I will be considering fresher in this market and that the company has to invest in training you from scratch. Working hours is not the major issue. The concern is what we get paid. The person will not be motivated to come and work for them.

A good and healthy mental life will increase productivity else they'll be trapped in a web from where most of us won't be able to escape.People are already suffering in the corporate sector due to the excessive amount of work and pressure

In my opinion work time should be 48 hrs per week . And companies should Give importance in freshers recruitment process, Incentives evey year on basis like top level directors , and most importantly they should give mental relief and encouragement by all the incentives then the Employees will be loyal more and the productivity will increase massively, That's it my side .

In my opinion work time should be 48 hrs per week . And companies should Give importance in freshers recruitment process, Incentives evey year on basis like top level directors , and most importantly they should give mental relief and encouragement by all the incentives then the Employees will be loyal more and the productivity will increase massively, That's it my side .

No need to increase work hours just maintain 40 -42 hours per week and then we have to motivate to our work force to do work with productivity and also we have to give incentive to workers like medical, education and others things and also at same time we have to increase the salary of work force like CEO of the any private company

Instead of increasing the work week. I believe companies should allot 10-15 of week on more skill sharpening. This will bring satisfaction in the employees that they are learning something new. And this skills will automatically increase productivity and revenue per employee.

During High School, our Schooling time was of 6Hrs (from 11AM TO 5PM)
So we should make 6Hrs minimum work time in Jobs too, and that makes 36Hrs in 6Days, all very balanced and much needed for to develop a country like India

The reason why the youth is in such a hurry to leave India is because one can earn triple the money for the same or less amount of effort abroad. I work in the aviation sector and we already work 12 or more hours a day but our salaries are a pittance compared to foreign airlines. India will have to raise salaries drastically if it wishes to retain the talent of young professionals
