Having lived in China for many years, I would say the best part is not having to worry too much about safety. There's never really a risk of being robbed or held at gun point and the cities are quite nice to walk around in at night. I lived in SF for a number of years, and it's terrifying to see how crime and homelessness became so prent in the city.

@richardlo4867
Yup. Except for the young party set Americans don't venture out at night time much because risk to personal safety is too great. I would personally call that a human rights violation but others will call it a personal choice...one that is enforced by, erh, circumstances.

@ricklin2804
Well it's really a low standard...China is better than that.

It looks that people are enjoying their life with freedom to drink in public. And it’s nice to be able to walk at night without worrying being robbed or shot like in the US!

@kosme-qz8tb
 @pedroserapio8075 First of all, I sincerely apologize to you for that rude Chinese and bad remarks. I'm a graduating Chinese college student, and the root cause of this mistake is that most of the previous generation in China didn't have a good education.

Our country has made a lot of progress in the past 20 years, and the previous generation has given a lot, and with the efforts of one generation, it has completed what only generations can do. The fact that 40 years ago China was an illiterate majority means that some of the most powerful people in society today are not well educated. It's like if you come from a family with low status and wealth, your father tries his best to use manual labor to earn money to make your family's life better, and then spends money for you to study, hoping that you think you can use mental activities to earn money and change your destiny, but he does not have more energy to quietly read a few books to enrich his spiritual world, so they will indeed have some uncivilized and rude behavior and remarks.

A country's education determines its future, which is why our country attaches importance to education, now every child of a Chinese family will be expected to receive as much education as possible, every year tens of millions of people take the college entrance examination and millions of bachelor's and higher degrees into society. We still have a lot of problems, but with the influx of new blood and the gradual retirement of the previous generation, we will build this country better, thank you.

There's no law about drinking in public so it is perfectly legal. In addition, there's no minimal drinking/smoking age in China. Chinese law is more relax in this area compared to that of USA.

@tao2869
but no drugs, we are not tolerant in that regard.

@mitnato
@tao2869 drug = death penalty

drug =死刑

@blueiguana430

The drinking age in China is 18 years old, but the regulations are not so strict, but drugs are very strict in China. Selling drugs may result in the death penalty, and drug users may go to prison!

@mitnato hopefully the scientists can invent some efficient medicine to get rid of drug addiction, a magic pill to heal the world.

@yfexl-1584
@greentea8852 You got it. The whole coutry almost crashed because of the two wars caused by opium, so Chinese people hate drugs very much. 50g drugs might lead to a death penalty before.

@ThriveChen
@bfc4837 that’s not right. If you are carrying more than 50g (even marijuana), you are risking your life for death penalty

@yushion5804

@yushion5804 US have so many biolabs, why not invent some medicine to get rid of drug addiction? this drug addiction is killing USA.

@yushion5804
@serriajohn no pills for stupidity, drug addiction problem is MADE by US herself, politicians want the votes, IRS wants the tax, people wants the freedom to fall, just take the consequences honestly, people have got their fun after all.

@serriajohn
@yushion5804 no one left behind= no soldier left behind= no schook kid left behind = no homelessnese left behind = no drug addict left behind, this is what a government shall consider, by the people , for the people, serve the people, no one is left behind. without this spirit, a nation is dead.

@powerrising4933
@blueiguana430 not really,you can say you buy cigarettes for your Dad❤

@user-ty6fj7gf6h
@mitnato Taking drugs in China is as personal freedom as in the United States, and it is not a serious crime. However, drug trafficking is a very serious illegal act with extremely serious consequences.

@blueiguana430
@jsc3417 I said most shops..of course some don’t care about the rules especially the smaller retailers. But you can’t just say the rules are not there.

@nw4353
Imagine people carry guns and also drunk, dangerous combination.

@yfexl-1584
I have been wondering why drinking in public is illegal in US.

@baojhoang7242
@yfexl-1584 The short answer is control, the long answer is tax and money. If allowing people to drink in public, people can buy alcohol at the market at lower prices and pay less in taxes. Forcing people to buy and drink only at certain locations, you have to pay higher prices, create more jobs and collect more taxes. Also, guns and alcohol don't go well together and since you can't banned guns, it's easier to control alcohol.

night life has a different meaning in China or even the east south Asia...they have a clubing bar hopping night life too but drinking is so so so so so free there that it redefined bar hopping so the night life in China is for everyone from eating clubbing and just all entertainment you like... not like most of the west where at 7 o'clock the place is dead for only sexted place only... lol that's night call night life.....and like most people speaking on this... you are 99 percent not going to get shot...
