Under the present contract, a Grade 4 maxes out after 6 years at $42.99 dollars per hour. This grade 4 makes $24.00 per hour which is a little less than 50K/annum. I have to pay Boeing to work there. As per the contract that was voted down grade 4 would have maxed at 60.09 after 6 years. But now the old contract is still in force. Do you seriously think in 6 years you will be able to afford more at $43.00/hr. than you can afford now at $24.00/hr.?

Life is getting more expensive now, no matter what Boeing will pay me in 6 years. What I'm trying to say is that the pay needs to meet the livability bar at every step of the way. What I do care about is the work culture. We are building planes, not burgers. Whoever in management cannot, will not, or does not want to identify with that should be fired on the spot. Pensions will not change that.

This is infuriating!! These idiots turned down to 35% raise, that would push some grade of mechanics to the same pay as a mid-level engineer who has been on the job for over five years.
