I only went on a small roller coaster as a child. I didn’t like it so I have never bothered with such nonsense. I had no problems jumping out of a building when I was a fireman, or roping down the side of one during rescue training.

I''d say we would get average of 5 or less per month emergency stoppage on our total rides. In our training, operators are told that rides like these have safety mehanism built in place when a ride detects abnormality, error or fault in the system. Hence, the trigger of the emergency stop. Despite the rides being maintained daily in the morning, there''s no 100% guarantee that it can be avoided.
Compensation is the hardest topic though. Our park doesn''t compensate people with money, but rather, discount/free tickets for their return. Not only that, we also give them stuff like water, ice cream, etc. In some cases, we even give them 1 limit pass to head to the VIP line if they do plan to come back to the ride.
