I found myself in an unexpected long distance relationship and travelled back and fourth for a few years before we moved in together. We're at 10 years now and going strong. Looking forward to you spending time with your family, and then getting back to settling down in China with your partner. It's always an adjustment getting used to each other when you're in person. I did the opposite direction. I flew back to China to see my grandma from Europe as she was in ICU. Did all the quarantines and started the first day of my job in my quarantine hotel.
That was the last time I saw her in person as she passed away after a few months.

I am so happy for you Amy. I have not seen my only surviving grandparent since 2017...which made me a little sad. So watching this is bittersweet for me, too.
Cherish the days of "the entire household being fed when 1 person is full" (一人吃饱全家不饿). 杰里德 had to do it without 苏苏, 阿福 returned to Deutschland alone leaving her wife in Shanghai. And they don't even have kids. Just imagine how hard it is with kids...
