The problem is that our policy makers today are only interested in bloating numbers. If you look at China, they invested a lot in human development as their economy grew. In India, we are experiencing massive unemployment, and there is no increase in funding received by education, healthcare, and skill development sector proportionally to our population and GDP growth.
We boast of being the 5th largest economy, but look at the numbers. Even a country at 8th or 9th position is far better than us when it comes to quality of life. We need to self introspect.
