Great video. Very excited to see you get off the main tourist track to visit 维西. I was there 14 years ago in 2010. At that time there was no road to 达摩 temple, so my friends and I hiked there by foot. We didn't know how to get there and got lost on the mountain, but then we found a bunch of Tibetan ladies and followed them to the temple. We spent the night in the temple with the monks. Very memorable experience. I haven't been to the Songstam hotel in Weixi, but I stayed at the ones in Cizhong and Deqin. They are all exquisite. Which route are you going to follow next? I highly recommend you go to the 澜沧江 valley and stop in Cizhong, then go to 梅里雪山 and 雨崩村 before you enter Tibet. Of course, 怒江 is amazing too, and there is a new road over the 碧罗雪山 from Cizhong to 迪麻洛, but that's quite far from your route to Tibet so I'm not sure if you'll be going that way or not.

Everything beautiful here......farms are so neatly arranged & orderly! Just can't believe the natives here have a knack of building on cliffs & mountain sides....even on the peaks!!! Unbelievable!

Really sweet of that lady to make the goodluck charm for you to put on your bike! Someday hopefully you could see the Indian-Nepal-Bhutan side of Himalayas aswell. It's very similar, has it's own quirks but it's got the same spirit and way of life :)

At the moment, as long as you don't fly your drone higher than 120m and not near airport, restricted airspace or military installations, you are fine.

In China, with the exception of the very old people, the rest incl ethnic minorities have gone to schools and are at least conversant in basic Mandarin tinged with local accents, so I believe that's how basic communication is possible.
在中国，除了上了年纪的老人，其余的少数民族都上过学，他们至少会说一些带有地方口音的基本普通话，所以我相信这就是基本的交流方式。

Mandarin is the official language taught to everyone, the younger generation should all be able to converse in it, but some older people might not be able to. You can see the old lady with cow feed repeating Yan's phrases and struggling a bit to explain, her mandarin was not great but enough to still communicate.

BTW I am 13th generation Chinese who had migrated to Siantan Island, his name was Lim Tau Kian, he married to a Princess , whose father is Emperor Bowen on Ming Dynasty. Not sure if those descxtions are accurate. He converted to muslim, by the name of Abdul Hayat and now his descendants are all over Malaysia and Indonesia.
if you could help find where this man had originated, I would be most grateful sie sie nie...

You speak such wonderful, perfectly understandable, clear English (and you also have a lovely voice ) but when I get google to translate people speaking Chinese into English I don't think it's doing a very good translation of what they are saying at all. It only gives me some idea of what they are saying. Could it be because there are different versions of Chinese?

If China was more open, this looks like a good route for circumventing Myanmar. The Chinese borders don't really have much problem with aliens, although a lot of security.

Are bikes allowed on highways in Yunnan? I was thinking to move to Shanghai but am sad that restrictions and cost make it almost impossible to have a motorbike. Aside from this channel, I only got vein and superficial YouTubers recommended to me, that make shorts on outrageously expensive superbikes, seems like it's a rich person's toy in Shanghai.

Aww bless little Buddha place but i notice the river is polluted by human process liquid remain natural colour suppose to be clear but cloudy green im not sure. CHINA gov need to clean the river again and bring back to life again, its a shamr most river in Britain is black yuck.
I hope Naxi and Tibetan people stil practice talking their own language and ofcos maintain the Mandarin speaking throughout because i can speak basic Mandarin too haha. Gg
